A cooperation between cloud-based data engineering tool Databricks and generative AI provider Mistral AI has been announced.

Built on top of the open-source Delta Sharing standard, Databricks Marketplace is a platform where data, analytics, and AI can be traded freely. Customers can explore Mistral AI’s models in the Marketplace, get more information about them, and see how they can be used in various ways across the Databricks platform. For example, they can deploy the models with Mosaic AI Model Serving, infer batches with Spark, and use AI Functions to infer models in SQL.

Mosaic AI Model Serving by Databricks allows users to access Mistral models over the same APIs as other Foundation Models. With this capability, clients may experiment with and produce big language models across clouds and providers while deploying, governing, querying, and monitoring any Foundation Model.

Mosaic AI provides a simple and affordable platform for users to build their personalized models. Customers have the option to modify the models developed by Mistral AI and other core models by incorporating their exclusive datasets. Model adaptation seeks to improve a model’s performance on a given task by increasing its grasp of a certain domain or use case, as well as by increasing its knowledge of the vernacular used by a corporation.

The user can acquire ownership of a differentiated model’s IP (Intellectual Property) and enjoy cost-efficient servicing after promptly deploying the customized model for inference utilizing Mosaic AI Model servicing.
