Commitment to constant improvement for a better user experience

Considering these factors, the wound care industry requires technological advancements to help alleviate common hurdles and enhance care delivery and the patient experience. AI has the opportunity to play a role in this movement, but wound care is experiencing parallel adoption challenges with other healthcare sectors as technology progresses. Grandview Research estimates that the global wound care market will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 4.17% between 2024 and 2030, justifying the need to expand technology capabilities in this sector. Additionally, the aging population is causing an increase in patients with chronic health issues, further driving the need for more advanced care methods.

Conventional ruler-based measurement practices have a  44% error rate, but AI imaging and measurement can significantly reduce this statistic by measuring a wound accurately through automated digital planimetry. With more accurate measurements, courses of action and outcomes may look drastically different.

More personalized treatment plans are another potential benefit of AI integration in wound care. Utilizing AI to analyze an individual patient’s electronic health record data, providers could take more tailored steps to ensure the best chances of recovery. They may also be able to reference a wider range of data to determine the next best course of action, such as dressings and medications to prescribe as the wound heals.

AI may also be able to offer enhanced monitoring and feedback on treatment plans and progress. With the availability of wound monitoring applications and devices, real-time data collection and analysis can enable ongoing treatment adjustments. In the U.S., approximately 2.5 million individuals develop a pressure injury in acute care facilities every year. AI integration could help reduce the number and severity of hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) and prevent needless amputations due to diabetic ulcers by assisting with monitoring, especially in understaffed facilities. The average HAPI costs a hospital up to  $70,000 per case, and HAPIs are the second most common hospital lawsuit claim after wrongful death. For diabetic ulcers, with the rate of diabetes increasing, especially among younger and disadvantaged populations, the rate of amputations has increased over the past several years, further representing the demand for AI’s assistance in addressing chronic wound conditions.

Improved quality of life and long-term outcomes

Positive outcomes are always the goal at the end of a treatment plan. A patient’s quality of life in both the short and long term could be improved with the use of AI through reduced healing time, minimized complications, and improved patient engagement and compliance. AI-driven care can potentially accelerate healing by using accurate insights to inform care decisions, but more research needs to be done to validate the impact of AI in improving clinical outcomes. Predictive analytics may help spot potential problems early on and help avoid infections or other wound-related issues. For chronic wounds that take more time to heal, AI’s ongoing role in the care plan and process could be pivotal to improving patient outcomes.

In connection with the transaction, the Company is granting an aggregate of 3,738,317 restricted stock units (RSUs) as inducement awards to 350 Amelia employees in accordance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4). The RSUs are being issued pursuant to the Company’s recently adopted 2024 SoundHound AI, Inc. Employment Inducement Incentive Award Plan (the “Inducement Plan”), have been approved by the Company’s Compensation Committee and are a material inducement for the retention of Amelia employees following completion of the merger. The transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making waves across all industries. Still, nowhere are the implications more profound than in healthcare. By enabling earlier disease detection, enhancing diagnostic accuracy, and optimizing treatment pathways, AI can dramatically improve patient outcomes while making quality care more accessible and equitable globally. One of healthcare AI’s most promising applications is the early detection of diseases like lung cancer. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, claiming an estimated 1.8 million lives per year. This staggering mortality is due in large part to the fact that lung cancer is often diagnosed at a late stage when treatment options are limited, and outcomes are poor. However, AI-powered tools are now able to rapidly analyze medical imaging data like chest X-rays and CT scans to spot subtle signs of earlystage lung cancer that are easy for even experienced radiologists to miss. RAD Security Launches First AI-Powered Incident Investigation with Behavioral Detection & Response Platform


AI-powered investigation combined with behavioral detection and response reduces false positives for time-strapped detection engineers

RAD Security takes the stage as a finalist in the Black Hat Startup Spotlight Competition, it unveils the first-ever AI-powered incident investigation capability for behavioral detection and response. Today, cloud security is based almost exclusively on signature-based detections, which are notorious for burdening security teams with false positives. RAD Security is the first to combine AI-powered incident investigation with behavioral, signature-less detections, to significantly reduce false positives and provide much-needed relief for overburdened security teams.

“By definition, signatures are stateless, making investigations based on the signature-focused approach inaccurate and tedious,” says CTO and Co-Founder Jimmy Mesta. “By adding AI-powered investigations to behavioral detection, which is already a step ahead of signature-based detection in accuracy, security teams can quickly get light years ahead in the accurate assessment of incidents.”

RAD’s behavioral approach and AI-powered investigations result in the lowering of false positives on their own; but by putting these two capabilities together, RAD enables security teams to achieve a multiplier effect. The enhanced accuracy of behavioral methods versus signature-based methods is easily demonstrated using multiple examples of attack tactics like reverse shells, access to sensitive data, and a Sudo CVE. In these examples, while signatures can be easily bypassed by avoiding the exact parameters, they are detected by RAD’s behavioral solution. By the same token, a behavioral drift event is not always a malicious event, so the addition of the AI investigation capability ensures additional accuracy. AI is particularly suited for looking across large sets of data and quick contextualization, making it a natural investigation tool and engine to analyze benign versus malicious drift.

Throughout the history of cyber security, and most famously in the endpoint and network security markets, signatures have eventually been replaced by behavioral methods in response to an evolving threat landscape. Today, the cloud security category is nearly entirely composed of signature-based approaches with runtime security and Cloud Workload Protection (CWPP) that are standalone or part of a broader Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP). In sharp contrast to signature-based CNAPPs, or posture-focused Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), RAD Security’s Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) solution creates behavioral baselines of unique good behavior to detect zero day attacks, enriching detections with real-time identity and infrastructure context that inform response actions.

More and more, detection and response is being accomplished by fewer and fewer dedicated people, with 22% of security professionals reporting recent layoffs at their company. The workforce reductions are an even more acute pain in cloud security, with 65% of cybersecurity and infosecurity professionals claiming burnout due to skill gaps. Even though a full 95% of IT decision makers feel their team has been negatively impacted by the cloud security skills gap, cloud native adoption continues, and analysts predict that, by 2025, 95% of new applications will be built using cloud native workloads.

Zero days like the XZ Backdoor are now a regular occurrence, making detection and response in cloud native environments more important than ever.

This means customers can now provision the real-time KSPM and runtime features of the RAD platform directly from EKS, for real-time visibility into their Kubernetes risk as well as signatureless cloud detection and response.
– Automated AI-Powered Investigation: RAD Security uses LLMs to quickly analyze multiple behavioral detections and determine whether an incident is malicious or benign, including real-time infrastructure and identity context.
– Findings Center: All incidents are now available in an easy to navigate console, making detection and investigation easier and quicker.
– RAD Open Source Catalog: New version details and new open source images have now been added to the RAD Catalog, detailing the changes in behavioral fingerprints over time and bolstering the behavioral workload fingerprint standard.
